Body after baby

I think its pretty safe to say that the majority of women have a hard time getting their body back after having a baby. I gained quite a bit of weight with Leonard and am still getting used to my new body. I started Weight Watchers a week ago and after my first week I am happy to report that I lost 7 lbs! I know it wont be that much every week, but it was so encouraging that all the work I put into making the right food choices paid off.

I know I wont be quite the same, but at least I can get back to a normal weight and be healthy. Jeremiah was very proud that I stuck with it and continue to do so. He bought me some Victoria's Secret Pink sweatpants (my FAVORITE!) and a cute matching shirt (so lucky to have a hubby with great taste in clothes).

Anyways, im feeling good about losing weight and getting back my body after baby :)

Wednesday nights are Leonard and Mommy nights. Jeremiah teaches an Autocad class at the community college so its just me and my little man for most of the night. We usually sit in the big comfy chair together and play with his toys while watching our favorite show, Jon and Kate Plus 8.
He was sooo sleepy last night and went to bed at 8pm. I still had a couple hours till Jeremiah home so I let the dinner dishes sit in the sink (instead of rushing to wash them) and pulled out my scrapping stuff. I got a few layouts done and I also took photos of all the layouts that were not yet in my gallery at scrapjazz.com. Yea that was something like 62 layouts including an altered formula can and a chipboard album project!

My friend, Joanne had posted some recent layouts of her adorable little guy so I thought i'd show my family and friends who dont get to see my work on scrapjazz, some of Leonard layouts.

Ok, I had to show the altered formula can. Got this idea from my SJ pal, Kimberly.





While I think Jeremiah would say my hobby is definitely a costly one...I think its awesome that I am preserving all these wonderful memories so my kids can enjoy them and remember too.

A wonderful weekend

This weekend both me and Jeremiah were determined to spend some real, quality family time together. I spent some of Saturday cleaning the house and then most of the day was spent playing with Leonard and just having a good time all together.

Leonard has had a stuffy nose this week. Poor little guy. He has been in amazingly good spirits for being all stuffed up. Thankfully, he isnt "sick" just a bit congested.

He is getting bigger and changing all the time. Sometimes I look down at him and he looks so different. Just looking at his pictures from when he was just born, I can hardly believe how he has changed.

Here are some photos from our weekend together. We took some in the park with b&w film on Jeremiah's film camera. Those will take about 2 weeks to come in b/c its special film. So hopefully I can get those scanned in soon.

Baby Dedication

This past Sunday was the baby dedication at my church. There were quite a few born recently so it was alot of fun. Im still waiting on some more pics from a couple people, but here are a few that were taken with our camera. They came out really dark and grainy so I consulted some friends on a scrapbooking message board I post on. MANY THANKS to Apryl from Picket Fence Studios for making these look so much better :) The first one looked good in color and black and white so i couldnt pick.

Sleeping Night #2

Leonard is doing really well with his sleeping. Last night he was really crabby and I tried to keep him up to at least 9pm but he was so sleepy. Not even going outside, his favorite thing, seemed to help. We were sitting watching Jon and Kate Plus 8 all snuggly in his fuzzy blanket and I gave him his binky. I look down 3 seconds later and he is OUT. So I just sit there watching the insane people with 8 kids and cuddling (something we dont get to do alot). Finally, I laid him down in his crib. He didn't even budge. I figured he would probably wake up after an hour because he never goes to sleep before 9pm.

So I do the dishes, clean up a bit, try to scrap, watch some more insane people with 8 kids and he is STILL asleep. Well, he ended up sleeping till 3am! He woke up, had a bottle and went right back to sleep and woke up at 730am as usual.

REJOICE! We are finally getting more sleep and Leonard is getting on a schedule which is AWESOME!

Slept through the night!

Leonard has been doing VERY well with sleeping lately. The past few nights he has been going down around 9:30-10:00 and waking up once, usually around 3:30-4:30. Well last night he offically slept through the night!

He went to bed at 9:30 and woke up at 5am! That's not exactly when WE would like to wake up and of course Jeremiah just fed him a bottle and put him back down! So of course that meant that we woke up at 7:30...which is WAY too late! He slept from 5:30 till 7:30 and was in such a chipper mood while we were getting ready. He just wiggles and giggles in his crib until we get him ready to go.

So now mommy and daddy just need to learn to wake up earlier! We were just so enjoying all that sleep!

12 weeks!

Leonard is 12 weeks today and in another week he will be officially three months old! Time has gone by so quickly, it just seems like a few weeks ago that he came into this world and I became a mommy. Everyday is something new and he is just so fascinating. He has been laughing and giggling and growing bigger and bigger!

Last nite was exciting because it was the first time he has slept for over 4 hours! He slept for 6 1/2 hours and when he woke up to eat at 4:30am I felt like I had been sleeping for days :) Hopefully, this becomes a trend :)
