Making Mommy Fabulous

If you are a mom of children under the age of 5 (maybe older) it is likely you don't get out much sans wee ones.  My birthday is on Cinco de Mayo (May 5th).  I usually don't do much on my birthday and this year I didn't really have plans as I was sort of dreading turning eight and twenty years.
I wasn't really having the best week and a friend of mine said, "hey you should come out for _____'s birthday party at Kickbacks on Thursday." I knew the hubs would probably grant me a mommy pass for the night.  It wasn't until I got the official FB invite that I realized, DUH, my birthday is on Thursday too! I explained the situation to my friend and she happily agreed to have me celebrate with her.

So then comes the "what to wear?" question.  Now years ago this would have been no problem.  Pre-kids my whole wardrobe consisted of great going out clothes. With no moolah for new duds, I had to resort to being creative :)

If you are like me, you hoard cute flower making tutorials and have a basket full of random flower lovelies that you have no idea what to do with.

I made the green and red print using this tutorial and for the yellow I did a mini version of the Lucy Flower
I glued them to a piece of felt, cut around the edges and pinned to a simple mini dress that makes me feel really skinny :)

I used Little Miss Momma's Natural Curly Hair tute but my curling iron has a 1 inch barrel so the curls were a little tighter than I would have liked but the technique worked perfectly.  The curls lasted ALL night so I highly recommend that tute.

My original idea was to attach my three little lovely flowers to a headband I had.  It turned out really cute, but it didn't look good with my hair so curly so I yanked off the middle one, stuck it on an alligator clip and called it a day.

I had an AMAZING time with some absolutely fabulous girls that I cannot WAIT to hang out with again.  So blessed to not only have an amazing hubs that will watch my kids so I can be "ME", but great gal pals as well.
