Of Curtains and Groovy Fabric...

So I have been up to more than just making pennant banners! My new craft room is making it much easier to get things done since I'm not running all over my house.

I think making your own curtains is so much fun. I recently made some for my kids room using Prudent Baby's tutorial for Grommet Curtains so absolutely cool and a great way to use a small amount of designer fabric in a big way. I was a little off on the measurements for my son's curtain, but I mean still SUPER cool looking (yes I'm going to fix it).

See what I did...

Making the kids curtains inspired me to make some for my kitchen. We have these three windows that get CRAZY light in the mornings almost to the point where you need sunglasses in there.

I used the same concept as the Prudent Baby tute except instead of grommets on top, I did a simple pocket top since I will be using cafe rods.

They aren't up yet, but I have this empty rod in my sewing room perfect for demonstration!
Here is all three, they turned out really cute!
This curtain rod is actually going to end up in the kid's room holding this awesome fabric over Bela's crib

My mom got me this yard from the Moda "It's a Hoot" Collection and I had no idea what to do with it because seriously! You can't cut it! A couple hems and a pocket top and you have a really cool wall hanging :)

Stayed tuned for a fun kitchen towel tute...
